Bourne End Charity Christmas Fun Night – 4th December

Friday 4th December 2015

Friday 4th December 2015

Bourne End Christmas Fun Night is approaching which is always a sign to me that Christmas is almost here.

The Bourne End Community Association, the Rotary Club of Cookham Bridge & various local businesses are organising this annual event. Starting at 5pm, the evening offers a wonderful start to the Christmas season with the shops in the village offering late night shopping, a bouncy castle & children’s funfair, street food, carol singers from local schools & St. Mark’s church & of course, mulled wine. Santa will be in his grotto from 5.15pm & Hall Place Vets will have animals inside the surgery for you to visit.

If you would like to get involved, please contact Kath Acres at kath.acres@spadeoakfarm.com or on 01628 531521

Illuminated Boat Parade to be held in September

Here is a lovely new event to be held on September 26th, “Illuminated Parade”.

Entries are welcome for all craft whether powered or unpowered, along the Marlow to Cookham Reach.  The winners will be chosen by Dave & Sue at The Bounty who will judge the boats as they pass. Starting early evening, there will be a short “switching on of the lights” ceremony & then all the boats will move slowly downstream, fully illuminated turning around at Cookham Bridge & back to the pub for a meal.

Even if you don’t have a craft, I think this will be a great sight to watch & photograph. Each entry will be £10 & for more details or to enter, you can email Chris Taylor at chris@taylor.uk.com
